Plundersong Gloomblade is best in an aggressive Shadow Runeblade deck—primarily Vynnset, and Chane where he is legal—that reliably creates Runechants and plays cards from banished, since it becomes a recurring 0-cost threat that can attack for an efficient +2 with Usurp while pressuring the opponent’s arsenal on hit; it is especially attractive in metagames where arsenal-based defense, setup, and reactions are common. It should usually be treated as a disruptive red attack rather than an automatic staple: Rift Bind is generally the stronger damage payoff when your banished zone is large, while Vynnset’s native Runegate attacks can be better for maintaining consistent banished-zone turns, but neither replaces Gloomblade’s arsenal disruption. Play it as a one-to-three-of in proactive Runechant-heavy lists if your blue/red ratios and Blood Debt life total can support it; it is much weaker in Runeblade decks that cannot consistently make Runechants or capitalize on replaying it from banish
