Pull from Beyond is best in a blue-dense deck that specifically wants Gate to i’Arathael tokens, since Opt 2 lets you reliably place a blue card on top before banishing it, turning the card into controlled Gate generation rather than a gamble; it is especially attractive when the deck already runs many blue pitch cards and can afford to lose one from the deck. Outside of a Gate-focused strategy, it is usually too low-impact: spending a card and an action point merely to Opt and banish a card is weaker than advancing your board or attacking. For general filtering and card flow, **Sift** is better because it Opts 2 and replaces itself by drawing a card, while **Eye of Ophidia** is better for pure top-deck setup because it provides Opt 2 at instant speed; however, neither produces a Gate. Therefore, Pull from Beyond should see play primarily as a blue three-block/Gate enabler in dedicated Gate decks, not as a broadly playable generic utility card.
