Stinging Sprite is best suited for aggressive Runeblade decks—especially Briar (Lightning or Earth builds) or Vynnset—that want to apply consistent pressure through mixed physical and arcane damage, since its on-attack or on-defense trigger guarantees 1 arcane damage and helps chip through armor while synergizing with effects that care about dealing arcane damage; however, at 3 resources it is generally inefficient compared to stronger options like **Snatch** (better rate and on-hit card draw), **Enlightened Strike** (flexibility and high efficiency), **Swarming Gloomveil** (scales with Runechants in Vynnset), or Briar staples like **Lightning Surge** and **Ball Lightning**, all of which provide more damage, stronger on-hit effects, or better synergy for the cost, making Stinging Sprite largely outclassed in competitive play and unlikely to see serious play outside of budget builds or very niche arcane-trigger strategies.
