Aethersling (1) fits best in a Wizard deck that can reliably amplify arcane damage or leverage multiple action points in a turn—most notably Kano, Dracai of Aether or Iyslander builds that can play on the opponent’s turn or stack multiple arcane sources to pressure life totals; the optional tap clause is largely irrelevant in classic Flesh and Blood rules (heroes don’t normally tap), so the real value is simply 4 arcane damage for 1 resource, which is baseline but not exceptional. In competitive Wizard lists, stronger options often exist—such as **Aether Flare** (which buffs subsequent arcane damage), **Forked Lightning** (higher damage ceiling), **Lesson in Lava** (value plus setup), or efficient staples like **Zap** and **Aether Icevein** that provide better scaling or disruption—so Aethersling would generally only see play in budget builds, limited formats, or very low-curve aggressive Wizard lists, and is unlikely to be a staple in optimized competitive decks.
