Bluff Catcher is mainly for Gold-generating sword Warrior decks—especially Kassai, of the Golden Sand builds using Cintari Sabers or other sword-centric weapon packages—because it converts a Gold into a large +3 boost on a key weapon swing while potentially rewarding a successful wager with extra intellect next turn; however, destroying Gold to pay only 1 resource is usually inefficient when Gold can normally generate 3 resources, so treat that clause as an emergency option rather than the main reason to play it. Compared with it, **Ironsong Response** is generally the better competitive card for most sword decks: it also gives +3 for 1 resource, but as an attack reaction it is much harder for opponents to defend correctly against and does not require committing the buff before they block.
