**Cloud Cover** is a defensive reaction best suited for slower, control-oriented or fatigue-style decks that aim to extend the game and minimize incoming damage rather than race—such as Oldhim (Guardian), Iyslander (Wizard control), or other heroes that value damage prevention over tempo. Because it only prevents 2 damage and costs 2 resources (while not blocking from hand unless it has a defense value), it is generally inefficient compared to stronger defensive options like **Sink Below**, **Fate Foreseen**, or **Unmovable**, which either block for more, filter cards, or provide greater damage prevention relative to cost. Even equipment with Arcane Barrier or armor pieces often provide more value. As a result, Cloud Cover is typically outclassed in most competitive decks and would rarely see play unless in a limited/sealed environment or a very niche prevention-focused strategy where specific damage prevention synergies matter.
