Shattering Flowtide is best suited for aggressive Illusionist decks—particularly Aurora or other Lightning-leaning Illusionists—that want to generate Lightning Flow tokens to fuel go‑wide turns and maintain pressure, since its Fragment ability helps ensure it “breaks” into value even when efficiently defended by 2+ DEFENSE cards; however, as a 0‑cost attack it must offer strong rate or on-hit impact to compete with staple Illusionist threats like Herald of Erudition, Herald of Protection, or more explosive payoff cards that either demand awkward blocks or provide stronger immediate value. Because Fragment makes it easier for opponents to reduce its power with common 3‑block cards, it can be less threatening than traditional Heralds unless your deck specifically leverages the Lightning Flow token for synergy or combo turns, so it’s playable in Lightning-synergy builds but generally not a strict auto-include, and may be outclassed in raw pressure by higher-impact Illusionist attacks unle
