Boneseer Skullcap is best in Brute decks that can consistently run a high density of 6+ base POWER attacks, especially midrange or aggressive builds using large blue pitches and efficient six-power attacks, since its defense trigger can preserve the quality of your next draw by keeping a strong card on top while filtering weaker cards away. It is most attractive when you expect to defend often and need generic head equipment rather than a class-specific option, but its Temper means it is usually only worth one meaningful block before breaking. In most modern Brute lists, however, it is generally outclassed by stronger class headpieces: Scowling Flesh Bag is often better for Intimidate-focused Brutes because it directly supports disruption, Horns of the Beast is preferable for decks that want extra action points and sequencing flexibility, and Mandible Claws may be stronger in dedicated discard/six-power strategies depending on the hero and format.
