About Embercleave

Embercleave would greatly benefit aggressive red decks that focus on attacking with multiple creatures, as it becomes more cost-effective to cast with each attacking creature. While it is a powerful card for boosting a creature's stats with double strike and trample, some decks may prefer other options like Colossus Hammer for a more explosive start or Maul of the Skyclaves for a similar effect with flying. Embercleave is a strong choice for decks looking to close out games quickly with overwhelming combat damage.

If an attacking creature with double strike and trample destroys all of its blocking creatures with first-strike combat damage, all of its normal combat damage is assigned to the player or planeswalker that creature’s attacking.
