About Chromatic Refinement (3)
Chromatic Refinement (3), instant - aura, designed by None first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Omens of the Third Age. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.35.
Chromatic Refinement is best suited for Prism (especially pre-Living Legend Prism) or other Illusionist builds that run a high density of impactful blue attacks—most notably blue Heralds—because it effectively refunds 1 resource and pushes an extra point of damage on the next blue card, slightly improving tempo and breakpoints; however, since it does nothing until your next action phase and requires you to already be playing enough strong blue threats, it is generally considered too slow and low impact for competitive play. In Prism, cards like Merciful Retribution, Ode to Wrath, Genesis, or even Fractal Replication typically provide far greater immediate or scaling value, and Luminaris builds would rather pressure with multiple Herald attacks than invest in delayed setup. As a result, while Chromatic Refinement can function in casual or aura-focused builds that want incremental efficiency, it is usually outclassed and does not commonly see play in optimized competitive decks.
