Power Play

About Power Play

Power Play, Guardian action - attack, designed by None first released in September 2025 in the set GEM Pack 3. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.66.

Power Play mainly fits **budget/casual Guardian decks** that reliably arsenal attacks and want a simple “tall” damage threat: red becomes 8 power for 3 resources from arsenal, yellow/blue are more pitch-flexible but less threatening, and all versions block for 3. It is most appealing in Bravo-style or Valda/Betsy-style Guardian shells that can set up arsenal turns and occasionally give the attack dominate/overpower, but it is usually not a competitive staple because it has **no Crush/on-hit disruption** and is bad from hand. Better options usually include **Command and Conquer** for 2-cost generic pressure with defense-reaction lockout and arsenal destruction, **Spinal Crush** for Guardian tempo disruption, and **Crippling Crush** in Bravo for a huge discard on-hit; those cards force blocks or punish leaks much harder than raw vanilla damage. So: Power Play can see play in limited, budget, or low-to-the-ground arsenal-focused Guardian builds, but I would generally cut it from optimized
