Rift Breaker (2), Lightning action - attack, designed by None first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Omens of the Third Age.
Rift Breaker (Red) is a niche Lightning attack that’s primarily useful as a tech card against decks that generate and rely on Lightning Flow tokens (most notably certain Elemental Runeblade or Lightning-focused builds that can stockpile and convert those tokens into value), so it would best fit into aggressive Lightning decks—such as Briar or other Elemental Runeblades—that can efficiently play 2-cost attacks and want targeted disruption without sacrificing too much tempo; however, because it only destroys a Lightning Flow token on hit and does nothing otherwise, it’s highly matchup-dependent and generally weaker than more universally powerful 2-cost Lightning attacks like Enlightened Strike (for flexibility and raw power) or Snatch (for card draw pressure), meaning it’s usually a sideboard tech choice at best rather than a main-deck staple, and should only see play in metas where Lightning Flow token strategies are common and impactful.
