Bootlegger Bust-Up

About Bootlegger Bust-Up

Bootlegger Bust-Up, Mechanologist action - attack, first released in October 2026 in the set Outbreak.

Bootlegger Bust-Up is best suited to a Mechanologist deck that can boost reliably and banish non-Mechanologist cards, especially a mixed-class or item-heavy build: each non-Mechanologist card banished this way adds +2 power, while a Mechanologist card instead gives the attack go again. In a typical Mechanologist deck, that trade-off makes its damage inconsistent, and paying 3 resources is a lot for an attack that may not gain go again. For a straightforward boost strategy, cards such as **Zero to Sixty** or **Throttle** are generally better because they cost less and offer more dependable pressure; **Maximum Velocity** is a stronger payoff in decks built to chain boosts, though it is harder to enable. I would not include Bootlegger Bust-Up in most competitive Mechanologist lists; consider it only in a casual or deliberately mixed deck that can often banish non-Mechanologist cards and wants a high-variance attack.
