About Clear Conscience (3)

Clear Conscience (3), Illusionist action - attack, designed by None first released in May, 2026 in the set Armory Deck: Zyggy.

**Clear Conscience (Red)** is best suited for Illusionist decks that want on-hit disruption and can efficiently push damage over breakpoints, particularly Prism builds that can force awkward blocks and leverage Ponder tokens for value; however, at 3 cost for 3 power with **Fragment** (losing 2 power when defended by a 2+ DEFENSE card), it’s highly inefficient and easy to block down to 1 power, making the hit trigger unreliable against most decks that defend with 3‑block cards. While the mutual hand-bottoming plus Ponder can enable some bottom-deck synergies or disrupt opponents holding key combo pieces, the symmetrical effect and poor rate make it weaker than staple Illusionist attacks like **Herald of Erudition** (card draw on hit), **Herald of Protection**, or more threatening pressure tools that demand real blocks. Overall, it is niche at best and generally outclassed in competitive builds, so it should rarely see play unless a very specific synergy or casual strategy is being built
