Beckoning Brilliance is best suited for a Light Illusionist deck (such as Prism) that actively plays instants during the combat chain—most notably builds that leverage cards like **Prismatic Shield** or other instant-speed auras or protection effects to gain tempo while attacking. However, most strong Prism lists are built more around efficient Herald attacks (like **Wartune Herald**, **Herald of Erudition**, or **Herald of Judgment**) and powerful non-attack auras such as **Genesis** or **Merciful Retribution**, which are not instants and therefore don’t benefit from Beckoning Brilliance’s cost reduction. Because the pool of impactful instants in Light Illusionist is relatively small, the card’s upside is narrow and often less valuable than simply running a more efficient or threatening Herald. As a result, Beckoning Brilliance is generally a niche or budget inclusion and does not typically see competitive play compared to stronger, more synergistic attack options.
