Rift Breaker is a very narrow tech card that’s mainly useful in a Lightning-based deck (such as Briar or other Lightning heroes) within a metagame where Lightning Flow tokens are common, since its on-hit effect only matters if the opponent controls that specific token; otherwise it’s just a 2-cost Lightning attack with no additional pressure, which is generally below rate compared to stronger, more consistent options like Enlightened Strike, Snatch, or efficient class-specific Lightning attacks that provide card advantage, go-wide synergy, or reliable on-hit value. Because it depends entirely on the opponent having Lightning Flow tokens, it’s a sideboard-level meta call at best and usually not worth main-deck space unless the format is saturated with decks that generate those tokens, in which case it can serve as targeted disruption—but in most metas, better generically powerful or synergistic Lightning cards should be prioritized instead.
