Stinging Sprite (2), Runeblade action - attack, designed by None first released in May, 2026 in the set Omens of the Third Age.
Stinging Sprite would only really fit in a slower, arcane-pressure–focused Runeblade deck (such as Viserai or Briar in a more fatigue or chip-damage build) that wants incremental, unavoidable damage when attacking or even defending, but at a cost of 2 resources its rate is generally inefficient unless its base attack and defense stats are unusually high, because most competitive Runeblade lists prefer cards that either generate Runechants, scale arcane damage, have go again, or provide strong on-hit effects. In most cases, cards like **Swarming Gloomveil**, **Spellblade Assault**, **Mauvrion Skies**, **Vexing Malice**, or even efficient generics will outperform it by providing better damage-to-cost ratios, stronger synergies, or combo potential, so Stinging Sprite is unlikely to see serious competitive play and would mainly be considered in limited formats or very niche builds rather than optimized constructed decks.
