Donkey is best suited to an aggressive sword Warrior deck—primarily Dorinthea or Kassai—that can make a sword attack difficult to block and does not rely heavily on keeping cards in arsenal, since a successful hit forces you to destroy one of your own arsenal cards; it is most acceptable as a blue-pitch utility card rather than a core payoff. In most competitive lists, more reliable sword buffs such as **Ironsong Response** are better because they provide a substantially larger power boost without the wager drawback, while cards such as **Driving Blade** can offer stronger proactive weapon turns depending on the build. Donkey is therefore a niche consideration for casual, multiplayer, or wager-themed play, but it generally should not see competitive Constructed play unless a future deck specifically benefits from destroying its own arsenal.
