Toughness can be beneficial in a control or defensive deck that focuses on manipulating the opponent's actions by strategically destroying the card at the start of their turn to augment the defense of the next action card. While this can be a useful disruption tactic, Ice Barrier or Ironsong Determination might be better options as they provide more reliable defensive bonuses. However, if incorporated effectively into a deck with synergy around improving defense and disrupting the opponent's actions, Toughness could still see play.
