**Erode Authority** is best suited for aggressive Illusionist builds—particularly Prism (either Herald-focused or hybrid aura builds) or Enigma—that aim to pressure opponents with on-hit effects and leverage **Dominate** to force awkward blocks, making it harder for control or midrange decks to efficiently defend; it works especially well in metas where opponents rely on single large defense reactions or high-defense equipment, since Dominate limits hand blocks and Fragment punishes high-DEF cards. However, at 3 cost it competes with stronger, more efficient red Heralds like **Herald of Erudition** (card draw upside), **Herald of Judgment** (disruption), or **Herald of Triumph** (snowball potential), which generally provide more consistent value or stronger on-hit effects, especially when cheated in via Prism’s Luminaris or other synergy pieces.
