Restless Templar, Necromancer action - ally, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Usurp the Shadow Throne.

Restless Templar is best in a dedicated Necromancer Zombie/Decay deck that can reliably deploy several Zombies and turn their inevitable Decay deaths into Gate to i’Arathael tokens, especially in slower, board-focused games where the Gate payoff is worth spending a card on a low-immediate-impact ally. It is less appealing in aggressive lists or decks that cannot consistently make Zombies with Decay, since it neither attacks efficiently nor creates value until something dies. Whether it is better than alternatives depends on the available Gate and Zombie generators, but cards that produce multiple Zombies, create a Gate immediately, or provide a stronger on-play effect will generally be better standalone inclusions; Restless Templar is primarily a synergy piece rather than a rate card. It should see play as a small supporting package—rather than an automatic three-of—in dedicated Decay Zombie builds if Gate tokens are an important payoff, but it is probably too slow for most other Necro
