Si bien ofrece una protección sólida contra el daño durante un turno, otras cartas como Protección de Teferi o Espíritu desinteresado brindan opciones de protección más versátiles o a largo plazo. Camino seguro puede ser una inclusión situacional en ciertos mazos, especialmente en formatos donde prevalecen los hechizos de daño masivo, pero puede que no siempre sea la opción más óptima en comparación con otras opciones disponibles.
