About Redirect

Redirect, Instant, designed by Izzy first released in Jul, 2010 in the set Magic 2011 and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 7.68.

A deck that focuses on control and disruption would benefit from including Redirect in its strategy, as it allows for unexpected and versatile plays by redirecting an opponent's spell to a different target. While Redirect can be situationally powerful, cards like Counterspell or Cryptic Command may offer more consistent and impactful control options in most scenarios. However, Redirect could still find a place in sideboards or as a one-of tech card in certain metagames where it can shine.

Rules

If you cast Redirect targeting a spell that targets a spell on the stack (like Cancel does, for example), you can’t change that spell’s target to itself. You can, however, change that spell’s target to Redirect. If you do, that spell won’t resolve when it tries to resolve because Redirect will have left the stack by then.

You may change any number of the targets, including all of them or none of them. If, for one of the targets, you can’t choose a new legal target, then it remains unchanged (even if the current target is illegal).
