Cloud Cover is a cheap, generic defense reaction that fits best in slower, control-oriented decks or heroes that want to prevent a breakpoint of damage to preserve life total while setting up a late-game win—such as fatigue strategies, combo decks that need to survive one key turn, or heroes without strong class-specific defense reactions. However, it is generally considered underpowered compared to better defensive options like **Sink Below** or **Fate Foreseen** (which both defend for 4 and filter your hand), or powerful class reactions like **Unmovable** in Guardian, which can prevent significantly more damage. Because Cloud Cover only prevents 3 damage and doesn’t provide additional value (like card filtering or scaling prevention), it is usually outclassed in competitive play and would rarely see play unless the format is extremely limited or the deck has no access to stronger defense reactions.
