Distant Rumbling (1) fits best in slower, setup-oriented Guardian decks that specifically care about generating Seismic Surge tokens over multiple turns—such as Bravo or Valda builds that want to stack cost reduction for a big dominated attack turn and don’t mind spending an early turn investing in future value. The card is essentially a delayed resource engine plus mild deck filtering, so it benefits control or midrange Guardians that can afford the tempo loss and protect themselves while waiting for the Surges to trigger. However, it is generally less efficient than other Seismic Surge enablers and payoff cards—such as Tectonic Plating (which generates Surges repeatedly without costing a card from hand) or stronger proactive plays like Stamp Authority or impactful on-hit attacks that immediately pressure the opponent. Because it provides no immediate board impact and is vulnerable to aura removal, it is usually considered too slow for competitive play, seeing niche use at best in ded
