Distant Rumbling (2) fits best in slower Guardian decks—especially Bravo or Valda Brightaxe builds—that want to stack their deck with a key card (like Crippling Crush, Pulverize, or a dominate setup) and benefit from Seismic Surge resource discounts on a later power turn; it’s particularly appealing in builds that can manipulate or know the top of their deck (e.g., with Ponder tokens or other stack effects) to mitigate the delayed redraw. However, it is generally considered weaker than cards like Tear Asunder (for impactful setup and disruption), Macho Grande (as a more immediate and threatening setup), or simply running more proactive blues and efficient attacks, because Distant Rumbling is slow, costs tempo upfront, and doesn’t immediately affect the board.
