Countdown to Extinction (3)

About Countdown to Extinction (3)

Countdown to Extinction (3), action - attack, first released in September 2026 in the set Usurp the Shadow Throne. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.29.

Countdown to Extinction (3) is primarily a Shadow deck payoff card for a strategy built to exploit Gate to i'Arathael and reliably access Darkest Hour, so it belongs in a deck that can efficiently attack with it, protect its hit trigger, and gain meaningful value from banishing cards; outside that dedicated package, it is too slow and conditional to justify. It is strongest as a small number of copies or a tutor target rather than a universal staple, since searching Darkest Hour only happens on hit and Blood Debt makes holding it in banish costly. Whether another card is better depends on the hero and format, but efficient class attacks, disruption, or consistently threatening on-hit effects will usually outperform it in a generic Shadow list; play it only if Gate and Darkest Hour are central to your game plan, rather than simply because it has Blood Debt.
